A very exciting day for me today!
My new Blog has gone live and you can now view it.
I just love the look that Frikkie and Madelyn, from Social Solutions SA, have come up with. It is sleek, uncluttered and modern. I can’t thank them enough for this amazing opportunity they are giving me.
When I asked about starting it, I really had no idea what I was getting into. Throughout my working career I have been on a few courses on the programmes I have used – but the majority of what I know about computers, I have taught myself.
But when Frikkie invited me down to their home office to show me the layout yesterday and started to explain the actual workings of this particular program, I found myself wondering if I would ever get to understand it! I am going to buy a larger monitor for my computer next, as I can’t do the blog on my iPad!
However, the gauntlet has been thrown and I plan to take it up, and make it work.
I do hope that once I manage to use it, I can rely on my faithful followers, to continue following me. What will happen, is only a small section of the blog will appear on Facebook, but if you click on the link, it will take you directly to my official blog.

Plumbing…
Yesterday I had to get the plumber to sort out a leak from my tap in the kitchen. I really thought that I would be able to do it myself. How hard can it be? There was a little screw to remove to get to the leak and I imagined if I took a photo of the mixer and took this to Seabreeze Hardware, that they would know exactly what washer I would need to do the job.
I arrived there and presented the photo and was met with the ‘oh my gosh, another stupid woman’ look, which I am so used to getting! I suggested he look the model up in the Cobra catalogue. He collected a book that was about an inch thick and started to slowly page through it.
I had absolutely no idea how many Cobra taps are currently on the market, and of course mine is 15 years old, so it was no longer there at all.
When he started to talk about a cartridge that might also need to be replaced, I knew I was way out of my depth in the conversation, admitted defeat, thanked him for his patience and left to phone AJ Plumbers, who have always done a brilliant job when working here!
The repair…
I watched the procedure as they fixed the leak and there was absolutely no way that I would ever have been able to do it myself. Now all I have to do is to pay for it.
Tenpin…
We had great fun playing our weekly game of tenpin this morning. There were some really impressive scores and the victory dances when he skittles fell and the tantrums and shouts of laughter when the ball ended up in the ditch, were loud and undignified for Senior Citizens, but we couldn’t care less!
Tommys Chinese Restaurant…
After the traditional cappuccino at the Dolphin Bowl, I ended up at Tommys Chinese Restaurant where I bought Chop Suey and a nice bottle of pink sushi ginger. The Chop Suey helping is large enough for 3 good meals and the taste is to my liking.
