I am starting this blog trying to explain what you need to do to see my blog. In Facebook you will see a photograph with the words below giving the Update Tuesday 13 September written below it. To see the whole blog just click on the Update wording and you will be able to read the whole blog.
Tuesday is the one day of the week that I am really excited about. The anticipation starts on Monday, actually. We all get sent a message from the originator of the Tenpin Tuesday Group asking who will be available for the next day at 10:00.
Depending on the response, those who say they will be there the next day, form the team. We are a motley group full of exuberance and laughter – our enthusiasm definitely outdoes our ability to bowl, but do we care?
Not at all! We are able to act naturally and thoroughly enjoy ourselves, giving encouragement and, at times, derision in equal quantities. But it is all taken in good faith and I believe that everyone has an absolute ball!
Unfortunately Caryl and Gillian were not available in this group photo, but Gillian has a photo on her own, which is a super one of her.
Gillian is an amazing player in the team. She is the one who throws that heavy ball so slowly that it almost looks as though it is going to stop before reaching the skittles, but as it taps the first one, the rest fold like dominoes. She then stands with arms above her head laughing, and is as astounded by her success as the rest of us are.
This is a thank you to all of you who make my Tuesdays so very special. I appreciate being part of this magical group.
After the game today we ended up at Rhubarb and Thyme again for what I thought would be cappuccino. However, everyone decided to make it an early lunch, and I was more than happy to oblige.
I mentioned this venue about a month ago when it was situated opposite the Seadoone Shopping Center. Well, it has moved into the old Friends Restaurant in Kingsway now. There should be a lot more parking available there for patrons, but today we had a bit of a problem finding available space to park.
The restaurant was hosting an Artist Group , so we sat outside with a spectacular view of the sea from the deck. It is a very sought after location, but over the 17 years I have lived in Toti, it has changed hands numerous times.
I do hope that they are able to make a viable going of it. Most of us settled on quiche of the day with either salad or chips. The quiche was filled with bacon, egg, baby tomatoes and cheese and the pastry was light and delicious. Will certainly be having this again when next I go.
Whilst typing this I am not entirely comfortable. The large spider which I was happy to allow to stay in the curtain for three days, has now done a disappearing trick. This makes me nervous indeed. I hope that he was sensible enough to escape through the open window during the night.
