What to write…
Each time I sit down in front of the computer to start a Blog I face the same question. What should I write about tonight?
It is not easy to think of things that others might find interesting, but once I start, something clicks inside – and off I go.
Oppo vs Samsung Galaxy…
I consider that this was a fantastic day. For a week after my seizure I remained at home, not because I felt strange in any way, but I felt a certain obligation to the public not to be on the road immediately after the event.
However, as all seems to be normal again, I decided to take the back roads to Gallaria to visit Cell C.
I have been a supporter of theirs for as long as cell phones have been in existence and overall, the quality of service I have received from them has been good.
My existing contract is a very inexpensive one, and up until the last upgrade 2 years ago, I had absolutely no trouble. But for some reason, this time I seemed to run out of air time.
I am an iPhone user and have been for years. Each time my contract was upgraded I received the phone that was part of the deal, but this was handed over to family members who needed a new phone. But sadly, my iPhone 6S IOS system is no longer able to be updated, so a number of the programs that I have used, are no longer supported.
So I have to look at Android phones this time around. I went in with the hope of getting a Samsung Galaxy, a phone which most of my friends seem to use, and have little trouble with. However, the package I want with extra air time pushes the monthly cost up more than I am prepared to pay.
The lady was very obliging and instead of trying to force me to buy the Oppo product, which I have never even heard of, she took my details and said that they will be having specials on the Galaxy on their Black Friday, which will be on the 2nd Friday in November.
I would love to hear feedback from any of you who use the Oppo phone and if you are happy with it.
The garden…
Petros has been working non stop since he returned from Mpumalanga and the results are absolutely amazing.
He called me to have a look at all the Dahlia’s that are about six inches in height already. I was so sad that we only had two flowers last year, but Brett and Amor were right, this year they are more established and they look promising.
He collected a variety of Vygies from the verge of another block of flats and has planted them on the steep banks. These have started to flower as have the Gaura, or butterfly plant. I find it miraculous that year after year they come back to life. The joys of Perennial planting.
Even the Pineapple plant which he put in from scratch last year is looking healthy. I smiled when he showed amazement that the pineapple actually grew out of the top of the plant. I can’t wait to see his enjoyment when this actually happens.
The Suncoast Barnyard…

Sanity prevailed. I had so looked forward to attending the Barnyard Show on Sunday afternoon, but on Saturday I decided to give it a miss. The strobe lights affect me adversely normally, and I could just imagine what might happen so soon after the seizure. Fortunately the girls were able to find a replacement for me without any trouble, and off the went.
On their return, Priscilla called in to see how I was doing. She said the show was truly wonderful, as most of them are. Apparently they disgraced themselves by dancing throughout, and perhaps it is better that I wasn’t there to show my disapproval. (Says she with tongue firmly placed in the cheek and green with envy!)
There will be more shows, and I will be part of them.
